WILLIAM EGGLESTON

One of the original 48 photographs reproduced in the definitive MoMA publication, "William Eggleston's Guide" (Museum of Modern Art, 1976, since reprinted), this photo depicts the artist's own bar-b-que on the driveway of his first home in Memphis. It is number 3 in an edition of 13 printed in 1981 by Middendorf Gallery. A seminal image, available for many years on postcards at the MoMA gift shop and instantly recognized by lovers of great art internationally. The new Whitney retrospective dates this image between 1969 and 1971, probably based on the date the bicycle or the Bentley were purchased.

Excellent condition.
